When safeguarding concerns arise on the sports pitch, on a school trip, or between lessons, staff are not always near a computer. The CPOMS Staff App—developed by CPOMS, part of Raptor Technologies—gives staff a secure way to record concerns when they arise, not hours later, using a mobile device that submits directly into CPOMS StudentSafe.
Built as a mobile extension of StudentSafe, the app helps schools, trusts, and activity-based settings capture safeguarding and wellbeing concerns in the moment, while keeping records in the same system that safeguarding teams already use to review and respond.
“This launch supports timely, consistent reporting,” said Rick Gardner, Managing Director at CPOMS. “When safeguarding happens away from a desk—during training, trips, or transitions—staff need a secure way to record what they’ve observed while details are fresh.”
Designed for Safeguarding on the Move
In sports clubs, early years and nursery settings, schools, and off-site settings, concerns may arise during lessons, matches, supervision duties, trips, or transitions between spaces. In early years and nursery settings where staff rely more heavily on mobile devices than shared computers, the Staff App offers a more practical way to record concerns as they arise.
With the CPOMS Staff App, staff can complete the same StudentSafe incident form from a mobile device, helping safeguarding teams receive timely information while details are still fresh.
“The Staff App extends StudentSafe to mobile settings while keeping the same processes, controls and oversight organisations already rely on,” said Chris Noell, Chief Product Officer at CPOMS.
Safeguarding information remains stored within StudentSafe, with access managed through existing roles and permissions. Information entered in the CPOMS Staff App, including photos and videos, is not stored locally on staff devices, helping protect sensitive pupil information.
Supporting Schools and Trusts at Scale
The CPOMS Staff App is designed for mobile safeguarding contexts, including sports, off-site activities, and multi-site organisations. For schools and trusts where staff work across sites, supervise activities, or move between spaces, it helps make reporting more immediate and supports clear, auditable records for safeguarding follow-up and inspection readiness.
At its core, the CPOMS Staff App helps settings:
- Record safeguarding and wellbeing concerns from a mobile device
- Submit concerns to StudentSafe using the same incident form and workflows
- Keep safeguarding records in one system
The CPOMS Staff App is included with a StudentSafe licence and is available now in the UK on iOS and Android. When downloaded, the app may appear on staff devices as the Raptor Staff App, as part of CPOMS’ parent company, Raptor Technologies, while remaining fully localised for CPOMS customers in the UK.
